Einhell are becoming an ever more prominent voice in the power tool world, they continue to innovate and come up with great products that rival the likes of what Bosch and DeWalt have to offer, whilst often being more competive when it comes to price. Generally speaking, they tend to fall into the middle ground, neither the most expensive or professional tools, nor the budget option either – so they’re a great choice for keen DIYers looking to do a decent job.
Among the many belt sanders that feature a powerful motor, the Einhell EINRTBS75 is one of the better ones. It has an 850 watt motor, so if sheer power is a characteristic you’re looking for in a sander then the EINRTBS75 will be the solution for you. For comparison, the Bosch 6032A1070 PBS has a 710 Watt motor, not only making it less powerful, but also more expensive.
The Einhell sander has a 3-metre long cable that in most cases makes manoeuvrability on the job as convenient as you’ll need, so there’s no need to worry about an extension lead unless you have a particularly unwieldy work piece. Incidentally, a handy addition to the cable is a clip which allows you to secure the cable to a surface so that you can manage the slack better. The length of free cable can then be adjusted, giving you freedom of movement without the cable getting in your way as you work. We think this is a simple but very useful little feature!
The dust extraction adaptor makes the management of dust more efficient, and along with the dust box it ensures you have a dust free work space. Not only are you then protected from breathing in dust, or getting it in your eyes, but it also reduces the clean up time. As is usually the case with dust extraction systems, the collection box can be a bit hit and miss, so the best advice would be to regularly clean it, and make sure there are no blockages that could reduce performance. Furthermore, if you have the luxury of owning a wet and dry vacuum cleaner it would be well worth attaching this to the dust extract port, as this is the best way of making sure the material is not only extracted more effectively, but it also ensures that it is kept moving, thereby helping prevent blockages.
Once you’ve sanded to your hearts content and the belt needs changing, this is a really simple operation and shouldn’t cause you any frustration. However a slight oddity as far as this in concerned is that the lever to release and tighten the belt is made from plastic, which seems like it might be an easy point of failure over time.
Einhell have really thought long and hard about user comfort with this sander, particularly as it comes with an adjustable second handle to suit a range of preferences. The handle also has a soft grip ensuring you are both comfortable and have full control of the sander. It also reduces the risk of slips whilst you use it, which is important as this is quite the noisy and powerful beast, and were it left running without anyone holding it, it would probably disappear over the horizon!
The folding front cover is a unique add-on for the Einhell EINRTBS75, and it really helps this model stand out from the crowd, as it allows you to get the nose of the tool in close, and even right underneath objects when you flip it up. In addition, the variable electronic speed control assures that not only are able to work at your own pace to achieve the necessary smooth finish, but it also saves your time when working on tough surfaces because the higher the speed the faster the removal rate.
- High quality tool, rugged construction largely with a bias of metal components
- High performance, variable speed to suit a variety of jobs
- Powerful motor to tackle even the toughest and most gruelling sanding tasks
- It is heavy since it weighs 3.4kgs, although this is actually a benefit to achieving an even finish
- The extraction outlet/container is mounted to the left hand side, so it might get in the way depending on which way round you position your hands
- Some users have complained about the belt losing alignment, although we haven’t found this to be an issue
Some users have complained about this being noisy, and only good for light jobs. Whatever your take on this, there is no denying the Einhell EINRTBS75 is good sander with some really well considered features such as the adjustable handle and flip up front cover. We’d certainly recommend it, if only for it’s versatility.>>> Click Here For Pricing & Reviews on Amazon <<<
